Switch it on under Settings > System > Modules and More > Reservations appears in the menu. For a day, week or month it shows a Gantt chart — tables down the side, time left to right, and each reservation as a colored block. Since the period selector also goes forward in time, you can set it straight to December and see which evenings are empty and where blocks already run back to back. Click a block to open the reservation.",[16,36,37],{},"This is where the length of visit matters. The default 90 minutes fits an ordinary dinner, not a company party. Set it realistically to three or four hours — the field accepts up to 480 minutes — and the chart will honestly show that after a party starting at six, nobody sits at that table at eight. The system doesn't police overlaps for you; you see them in the chart, which is exactly why the length should be entered truthfully.",[16,39,40],{},"If your venue is split into sections, the filter at the top can show just the private room or just the main floor. For parties it pays to keep the first two strictly apart. Created means “the company asked and we're holding the date”, Confirmed means “it's agreed”. Go through the gray blocks at the start of December and you know exactly whom to call.",[16,49,50],{},"Large groups usually mean a deposit. Reservations have no dedicated deposit field, but customer credit does the job. Link the reservation to a customer from the database — the Link Customer button sits right in the reservation dialog. The customer card then shows a wallet icon: Top Up creates a bill for the amount, the company pays it and the amount is added to their credit. Use the transaction note to record which date it belongs to.",[16,52,53],{},"The deposit then doesn't sit in a drawer or a notebook but with the customer in the system, with a transaction history. And it doesn't count as revenue: topped-up credit is a liability to the customer, not income. It becomes revenue on the evening itself, when the company pays the bill with the Credit method — available in the payment dialog once the customer is assigned to the bill and has a positive balance. Credit requires the Customers and Customer Credits modules to be switched on.",[11,55,57],{"id":56},"the-evening-it-all-arrives","The evening it all arrives",[16,59,60],{},"The day before the event, open tomorrow's reservations. It looks like a formality, but it's how you'll tell at the end of the month how many reservations actually turned up and how many ended as Cancelled or a Confirmed that was never switched. For planning next year, that's a more useful figure than the number of phone calls.",[16,65,66],{},"And keep an eye on who can work with reservations. By default, the Operator role can create and edit them, while a Helper can't see them at all.
